“Eadweard Muybridge” by Caroline Grannell
A song of Muybridge and his reaction to his wife’s adulterous ways.
A catchy little ditty, don’t you agree?
“Je Crie Aux Scandales”
According to the description box found on the YouTube website, the musician based this off Edvard Munch’s The Scream.
Not bad, but I have always imagined this painting inspiring something a little darker than a bouncy folk song. Perhaps something the Industrial genre, but whatever.
“Somehow I’ll Go On” by Linda M. Smith
An epic tribute to Gentileschi’s strength and the ability to survive her hardships and go on to create great contributions in the art world.
“Susanna” by Linda M. Smith
A sad song about the Biblical Susanna and her victimization. Gentileschi’s painting capturing the scene that will nearly cost the woman her life.
“Let Your Heart Be Your Eyes” by Linda M. Smith
A pretty and uplifting song paying tribute to Artemisia’s skill as a painter. While a folk song, it feels very country.
“Waiting for a Glimpse” by Linda M. Smith
Not as strong as the previous ones, but it has a tender and sweet quality to it.
“Goddess of the Sky” by Linda M. Smith
A beautiful and uplifting song dedicated to Artemisia Gentileschi.
“Norman Rockwell” by Ed Jeffers
Through song, Jeffers gives a list of Rockwell’s paintings. Reminds me of the educational songs you learn as a kid.
