So, the band decided to name drop one of the most referenced print from Francisco Goya’s Los Caprichos series. How does it stand up?
On its own, the song has a lovely and relaxing quality. Mandig’s vocals gorgeously complement the electronic bleeps and synthesized atmosphere. In relation to the Goya print, the song does not seem to fit. It feels too modern, soft, and pretty in comparison to the agony the faceless person feels as monstrous winged beings crowd around him. I can think of other songs from Trent Reznor’s body of work that fit this artwork better.

Adapting the H.P. Lovecraft story Pickman’s Model, the two characters recount the tale of the mysterious artist Pickman who exhibited the same misanthropic tendencies as the real Lovecraft did in his lifetime.
